The Notebook is a Romance Drama Movie directed by Nick Cassavetes; starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. The movie is about a guy who's belongs to a lower class whos falls in love with a rich woman. Due to their social class differences they are separated and the boy is left devastated. My favourite scene of the movie is when Allie had moved away, she moves on and falls in love with a rich lawyer. Noah writes letters to Allie everyday but never gets a reply. Noah promises Allie that he will build the house the way she wished. The use of a master shot to establish the house is used very effectively in this scene as the audience are able to have a clear view of the house that Noah had bulid, the audience are amazed as it was build exactly the way Allie wished it to be. This creates a sense of sympathy for the audience towards Noah. Allie sees a newspaper article; Noah was selling the house, after reading the article she returns to see Noah. The editing of the movie is very effective as the use of flashbacks and the use of narration, remind the audience that the elderly man is Noah and the elderly woman in the nursing home is Allie. Noah tells the elderly woman the tale of their life back in 1947's.
