Titanic

Titanic is a 1997 phenomenal film directed by James Cameron. It is based on a true story which represents the RMS Titanic.
Firstly, the film starts of with a survivor of the Titanic, the story is told through a flash back. The use of the flashback and narration allow the audience to know it tells a story in past tense of what happened.  The use of unique film innovation allowed the film to become very realistic, the use of camera in the water up close to the victims made the audience feel a part of the turmoil taking place. Various shots were used throughout the movie to show the relationship status between the two lovers.  High angle shots on Rose show that we look up to her because of her status, she’s apart of the high social class, in contrast Jack is shown in low angle shots to show we look down to him, this contradiction shows the difference between the two lovers. Another issues which helped distinguish their social class was the make-up and costume which was used. It was used very effectively in order to show their status, for institance Rose wore very expensive dresses. Particularly , in the dinner scene rose wore a jump dress, colour red with beaded net over a silk gown, Rose wore this dress at the dinner where Jack was invited. In contrast, Jack wore a dark coloured suit with a rough looking hat. The colours which were used for their clothing; for example Rose's red dress can denotate Love, Passion or danger.
